About the Role

Five Star Recruiting is seeking a Food Service Worker for our client for a temporary, 30-day assignment. This role involves assisting with food preparation, serving, and maintaining cleanliness in a professional food service environment.

Job Responsibilities

Read recipes or product directions and estimate food requirements.

Operate kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, season, and knead foodstuffs.

Assist in preparing hot and cold foods, storing them properly, and monitoring temperature and spoilage.

Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.

Maintain records and requisition supplies/equipment as needed.

Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment according to Client and regulatory procedures.

Set up stations with entrées, soups, salads, breads, condiments, and utensils.

Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables; break down stations at the end of meal periods.

Brew coffee and tea, and restock beverage areas as required.

Interact professionally with customers, assist with opening containers and cutting food when requested.

Comply with all HACCP and food safety policies and attend required trainings.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience:

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.

No prior experience required—training provided.

Skills & Attributes:

Professional demeanor, honesty, and strong work ethic.

Positive attitude and ability to communicate respectfully with coworkers, customers, and supervisors.

Basic computer and food-handling skills.

Ability to follow clear instructions and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Additional Requirements

Flexible to work varying schedules, including occasional weekends or holidays if required.

Ability to stand for up to 8 hours, walk extensively, and lift up to 35 lbs (occasionally up to 40 lbs).

Comfortable working in environments with varying noise levels and temperatures.
